Fionn Ó Marcaigh carried out his PhD in Nicola Marples’ research group in the Department of Zoology, Trinity College Dublin. His thesis, submitted in 2022, examined island birds to uncover the factors underlying the evolution of new species, supported by the Irish Research Council.
